What does JOB Australia do for Australian Employers?

JOB Australia attracts young people to Australia with the promise of work. The strategy is very simple; identify jobs needs and provide working holiday-makers planning to travel to Australia with online application access to that information before they leave their country of origin.

Where will young people come from?

The Australian Working Holiday visa is available to passport holders aged between 18 and 30 years from the UK, Canada, the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, France, Italy, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Estonia, Malta, Japan, Ireland, the Republic of Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and the Republic of Cyprus. It is also now possible for passport holders from Thailand, Chile and Turkey to apply for a special 'Work and Holiday Visa' (different from the Working Holiday Visa).

A work and holiday visa agreement has also recently been formed between Australia and the United States of America and came into effect from the 31st of October 2007.

The Australian Federal Government places a strong emphasis upon promotion of the Working Holiday Visa to stimulate demand for short-term skilled and unskilled seasonal work, especially in regional areas. The visa permits work (in the one job) for a period of up to 6-months.

How does it work?

To be involved, JOB Australia invites you to first register your Company as an Australian Employer supplier to obtain a log-in that then enables you to publish details about the business and importantly, job opportunities in the JOB Australia jobs network, at any time during the period of the next 12-months.

The online registration and listing of jobs is a very simple and integrated process. It results in the publication of a summary of the job in the jobs network and a more detailed display featuring a job description including hours of work, rate of pay, special conditions etc., and up to four images of the business/property(if uploaded), the company website, a Google map display and a direct email application link.

The detailed online display is accessible to job seekers with login access to the site and the ability to make direct contact with Australian Employers about specific job opportunities before they leave their country of origin. Your company name and contact details will only be able to be viewed by JOB Australia members.

What are the costs?

An annual registration fee, valid for a 12-month period from the time of registration, has been suspended until mid 2008. There are also no costs associated with listing vacancies in the jobs network. You can list jobs on the JOB Australia website at any time. Simply use your company login to access the administrative area. You then have an opportunity to add new jobs as well as to amend or take off-line previously listed jobs that may have been filled or are no longer available.

If you want to participate you will have to register.

If you have further questions and want to get in touch with John Greenslade, Managing Director of JOB Australia you can do so via our email contact.
