Frequently Asked Questions
How can I find a specific job offer?
In the job summary you can either enter a keyword into the field “Job Search”, which will cause only jobs to be displayed containing this keyword or alternatively you can put a filter on the Job summary by clicking on Summary Settings and then tick only those jobs of interest to you. Searching for jobs available in certain months of the year or in specific locations, State or Territory is also possible.
Is there more than one vacancies per job?
Often there is more than one position available, especially for seasonal and peak period work like fruit picking on farms and food and beverage service in hotels and resorts. However it is unlikely that a company would look for more than one person for an office job over a limited period (maximum 6-months) of time. Sometimes there are also opportunities for couples to find work with the same employer in different positions at the same time.
How can I establish contact with employers?
As soon as you sign-up as a JOB Australia member or book a Starter Package (available in Germany & Netherlands only) with one of our partners you will receive a personal login, which allows comprehensive access to the JOB Australia jobs network. When logged on you will have full access to details of the job description and the contact details of employers including telephone, email and physical address. It is recommended that you make contact with employers in Australia at the earliest opportunity (email application template provided) in order to maximise your chances of securing a job and or an interview before you travel to Australia or at least immediately after arrival in the country.
Can JOB Australia guarantee a specific job?
No. JOB Australia is in regular contact with Australian employers and identifies current and future job opportunities, which are then published on www.jobaustralia.net thereby providing job seekers with an opportunity to make direct contact with those employers. Only the Australian employers can offer and guarantee a job to a job seeker either before or after your arrival in Australia.
How can I prove qualification for a specific job?
European degrees are often recognised in Australia, but sometimes it is difficult to explain in English what specific qualifications are represented in a European certificate of apprenticeship. We recommend that you have a short description in English of your experience and apprenticeship, diploma or other degree, in addition to a copy of any professional certificates and a current CV.
