Australia-A Land of Dreams!

VIC NSW
When most people think of Australia a particular image comes to mind. It might be the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Ayers Rock, a laid-back, sun-burned character out of an Australian movie, or the unique Australian wildlife. Such imagery may not be fully representative, but it does highlight the fact that in many ways Australia is different to anywhere you might have been before.

The first thing you have to take into account is that Australia is big and that most of it is empty-only 21 million people in an area half as big again as Europe, with most of them living in a handful of cities.

If it is space that you are looking for, look no further than the Outback with its vast semi-deserts, tropical wetlands and endless horizons. Here you’ll find huge wilderness areas like Kakadu National Park, Cape York, the Nullarbor Plain and the Simpson Desert. It’s also where Australia’s Aboriginal people have been best able to preserve their ancient culture and traditions.

If you want to go where most of the people are, Australian cities are not necessarily like every other city in the world. Few cities in the world can claim to be as beautiful and cosmopolitan as Sydney, as calm and dignified as Adelaide or as remote and friendly as Perth.

Between the cities and the Outback waits a treasure of travel experiences, from the awe-inspiring spectacle of the Great Barrier Reef and the calm of tall native forests, to some of the world’s best wineries and swimming beaches.

In general the inhabitants of Australia are renowned for their open mindedness, their friendliness and relaxed attitude. This may be caused to some extent by their history and the variety of cultures immigrating to Australia – besides European immigrants there are large parts of the population with an Asiatic background, in many cities “Chinatown” is among the most interesting neighbourhoods.

Australia has demand for both semi-skilled and skilled workers, and the working holiday visa, together with JOB Australia offer you the possibility to experience this exciting country first hand – and not with the eyes of a tourist, but in every day life – an opportunity you should definitely not miss!
